before it gets so cold that this rain turns to snow...

It was reasonably chilly yesterday, but nothing special. Now, all hell seems to have broken loose. It's 31 and supposed to get down to, I think, 21 and it's snowing like mad outside, with that famous Chicago wind thrown i for good measure. I wonder if people put off their daily business when the weather is really bad, or if they just continue on as if nothing were wrong?

I heard that they were canceling hundreds of flights over the last couple days because of the snow in Chicago and bad weather elsewhere. So I guess it threw people off their plans this week. Is it normal to have snow there by now?

(By the way, bad weather was not a factor in traveling from Santa Cruz to Tucson yesterday, I'm happy to report.)

I guess it's normal to have snow, and as far as I know it usually happens a lot earlier. Still, it took my by surprise a little bit.
